Trevaskis Consulting has the experience and skills to help clients discharge their duties under the regulations and to act as the appointed Principle Designer.

Building Insurance Valuations

Trevaskis Consulting has extensive experience of providing clients with advice on building insurance policies, the cover that is required and the preparation of building insurance valuations. We have particular expertise in managing programmes of building insurance valuations for entire property portfolios for managing agents.

All Trevaskis Consulting building insurance valuations are undertaken in compliance with the RICS Code of Practice and conform to BICS standards.

Our surveyors value a wide range of different buildings and use this experience to inform all our building insurance valuations. We maintain a confidential database of all our valuations in order to build our expertise in this area.

Most residential building insurance valuations are undertaken once every three years however we can supplement this with an annual ‘desktop’ review to factor in inflation and other marketplace or local changes if required by our client.

Party Wall Services

The Party Wall etc. Act 1996 sets out the procedure that must be adopted when a building owner wishes to carry out work on, near or adjacent to a boundary or shared structure. This can be a complicated and legalistic process and professional advice is recommended.

Trevaskis Consulting can act as either the building or adjoining owner’s surveyor. We offer professional advice on all aspects of the Party Wall legislation, preparing Awards and Schedules of Condition.

We will base the Party Wall Award upon the best practice document drafted by the RICS and amend it to reflect our clients’ specific work.

Building Defect Diagnosis

Sometimes the root cause of a repair problem is difficult to diagnose. If not resolved quickly enough this can lead to a more complex problem arising or damage occurring or the need to make a claim for insurance or compensation.

Trevaskis Consulting can offer help with diagnosing defects in buildings, large or small and provide advice on how to remedy the problem. If necessary we can help residential owners to make a claim against insurers or warranty holders. In these cases we can undertake detailed inspections to identify the problems and make recommendations for resolution, including report preparation to assist in any claims.
