About Us

Trevaskis Consulting is a company of Chartered Surveyors and Management Consultants offering a range of specialised services to residential landlords, tenants and managing agents.

Trevaskis Consulting was established by Sally Trevaskis BA (Hons) MBA in 2000, after a successful career managing public sector housing.  Sally provides management consultancy services within the business and specialises in helping organisations, teams and people improve their performance.

Ian Thompson BSc FRICS, joined Trevaskis Consulting in 2005 to expand the company to provide traditional building surveying and dispute resolution services.

Together Sally and Ian bring a unique blend of public and private, people and buildings, senior management experience. Trevaskis Consulting is therefore well placed to support a wide range of property related organisations to help them better manage both their teams and properties throughout England and Wales.

Ian Thompson BSc FRICS

Ian Thompson is a Chartered Building Surveyor with over 30 years professional experience of both building surveying and residential management and is a Director of Trevaskis Consulting.

Ian is an expert in building surveying and leasehold management and his key personal skills are:

• Strong financial and commercial acumen
• Skilled and experienced project manager
• Clear and concise written communicator
• Ability to work to exacting deadlines
• Task focused; will get the job done

Ian Thompson has expertise in all aspects of building surveying services from project management to structural surveys, party wall matters and dilapidations. Working within both the public and private sectors, he has built up an expert knowledge in the repair and refurbishment of a wide range of building types.

Ian Thompson has an extensive knowledge and experience of residential landlord and tenant matters as he managed large portfolios of Central London mansion blocks for a variety of clients.

Ian Thompson is a Professional Member of the Residential Chamber of the First Tier Tribunal and sits on the London Panel. Ian also regularly presents cases to the First Tier Tribunal, acting as an advocate on behalf of landlord and lessee clients.

Ian is a Fellow of the RICS and his membership details can be viewed on the RICS website

Ian Thompson uses his specialist knowledge of landlord and tenant legislation and repairs and maintenance to assist courts, tribunals and clients in the role of expert witness.

Ian was among the first Chartered Surveyors to become an RICS accredited mediator and now performs this role for a number of clients.

Prior to joining Trevaskis Consulting in 2005 as a Director and Senior Consultant Ian Thompson had a very successful career in the private sector as a Chartered Surveyor. His last post was with Dunlop Haywards from 1995 where he rose from Associate to Director by 1999.

Sally Trevaskis BA(Hons) MBA

Sally Trevaskis helps organisations, teams and individuals improve their performance through consultancy, training and group facilitation. Sally’s work background is an interesting mixture of public and private sector housing management and her key personal skills are:

• excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills
• an original, innovative thinker who can put ideas into practice
• clear and concise written communicator
• skilled group facilitator
• people focused and able to work as part of a senior management team.

Sally has worked with a wide range of public and private organisations including Housing Quality Network, HouseMark, Jenkins Duval and ValueAdding.com. Sally developed and wrote the ‘Performance Management Workbook’ for the Housing Quality Network and launched it nationwide through a series of conferences.

Prior to establishing Trevaskis Consulting in 2000 Sally was Head of the Housing Management Service for Westminster City Council, overseeing the day to day management of 24,000 properties with a staffing compliment of 150, an annual turnover of £4.5m and a capital and revenue works programme of £36m.

Sally has recently undertake two years study in Organisational Transactional Analysis at The Berne Institute with Dr Anne de Graaf and is also training to become a psychotherapist.

Tanya Stratton FMAAT

Tanya qualified as an accountant with a Big Four firm in 1987 and has had accounting roles within practice and for several SMEs. Her last role was as a partner in a firm of Chartered Accountants in Bristol for 10 years with a portfolio of SMEs, start ups and charities.

Having been involved with Trevaskis Consulting since its start up in 2002 Tanya has now taken on the role of Finance Manager, with responsibility for management accounts, payroll, booking and credit control.
